  • A closure originally planned for next week for repairs of the Newton River Bridge on State Highway 6 in the Upper Buller Gorge has been postponed. The highway will be open. Details  of revised dates for this work will be provided once they are confirmed.
  • New pedestrian refuges will be built on State Highway 6 in Nelson in May. They will be installed at two locations: one on Annesbrook Drive and another on Tāhunanui Drive.

The details below outline the main planned state highway roadworks occurring in the greater Wellington region and the top of the South Island over the coming week (from Saturday, 27 April).

NOTE: Roadworks are dependent on weather and other factors. Bad weather can see work postponed to the next suitable night in the works programme.
