Important information for drivers.
Lower North Island:
- Regular users of State Highway 2, Remutaka Hill, must plan for a second week of planned night closures on this route.
- Work crews will be carrying out maintenance on State Highway 1 Mount Victoria Tunnel in Wellington on Monday to Thursday nights. The tunnel will be closed to all traffic between 9 pm and 5:30 am. Traffic management set up for the closure will begin from 7 pm. Drivers travelling to and from Haitaitai, Kilbirnie, and Miramar must factor this into their travel plans.
Top of the South Island:
- In Nelson, safety barrier works continue on State Highway 6, Whakatu Drive. Night closures begin 17 March and continue until 27 March.
- Stop/Go traffic management will be in place at State Highway 1 St Andrews, south of Blenheim with nightworks set to continue until 28 March.
- Stop/Go night works planned for State Highway 1 near Blenheim
- Work has resumed at the Picton Elevation on State Highway 1. The aim is to have the slow lane restored in May
- Drivers heading south from Nelson on the inland route to Christchurch need to be ready for closures for culvert replacements on State Highway 65 Shenandoah Highway
