Waka Kotahi NZ Transport agency advises that Tauranga road users should expect significant delays this afternoon due to an incident at the railway on Hewletts Road.
Roads around the area are closed, including Hewletts and Maunganui Road and the State Highway 2 flyover.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area and take alternative routes.
Emergency services are responding.
