The NZ Transport Agency advises people to expect delays on State Highway 29a at Maungatapu and avoid the area if possible.
A serious crash has occurred. A detour is in place via State Highway 2.
All lanes between the Maungatapu Bridge and the Maungatapu roundabout are currently closed but that is subject to change.
