Emergency works on SH35 Wainui Rd from tomorrow night

|

UPDATE 9.05am Thursday 25 August: This work will now start from 10am this morning (Thursday 25 August), not this evening, as was communicated in yesterday’s traffic bulletin. All other information below remains the same.

Waka Kotahi thanks everyone for their patience and apologises for any inconvenience caused by the change in communicated start time for the works.

Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency advises Gisborne District Council will be undertaking emergency wastewater work on State Highway 35 Wainui Road from tomorrow (Thursday 25 August) until Saturday (27 August).

This emergency work is required to remove a blockage.

Work will begin tomorrow night and continue night and day until the blockage has been removed. A 30km/h temporary speed limit will be in place until the work is complete.

The worksite is on Wainui Road, in the front of The Esplanade, at what can be a busy intersection, with traffic travelling to and from the Port. People are asked to take extra care and follow the directions of traffic management staff and signs.

Waka Kotahi thanks everyone for their patience.
