Drivers advised of delays on SH1 at Whangarei this weekend

|

The NZ Transport Agency is advising of possible delays this Saturday (December 6) on State Highway 1 at Whangarei as maintenance work is completed on the highway just south of Murdoch Crescent.

Work will begin repairing the road surface and adjacent guardrail, as well as clearing vegetation, at 9am and is scheduled to be run to 2pm.

One lane will remain open to northbound traffic, with all southbound traffic being detoured along Mount Pleasant Road, Arcus Street and Southend Avenue. All intersections will be manned and the detour signposted, says the Transport Agency’s Northland & Auckland North Journey Manager Jacqui Hori-Hoult.

“We thank motorists for their patience as we carry out these repairs and ask that they help keep our contractors safe by observing speed restrictions and driving safely through the works site.”
