The NZ Transport Agency is advising of delays on State Highway 35 near Tokomaru Bay tomorrow, Wednesday 8 May, as NZ Police carry out investigations into two fatal crashes at separate sites on the road.
The investigations were scheduled to take place on Sunday 5 May, however Police were not able to complete the investigations and they have been rescheduled for tomorrow.
From 8am, Police will be undertaking investigations on State Highway 35 Mangahauini Road, south of Waiau Road, for approximately four hours.
Police will then move to the next site on State Highway 35 Waiapu Road, north of Tokomaru Bay. We expect Police to be there from 1pm for approximately four hours.
At times during these investigations, the road will be down to one lane.
There may be full road closures during each investigation, but it is expected that these will be for no longer than five minutes at a time.
Each site will be under stop/go management during the respective lane closures, with a temporary 30 kilometre per hour speed limit.
The closures are necessary for Police to undertake their important investigations, however the Transport Agency acknowledges the disruption to road users and would like to thank everyone for their patience and understanding.
Plan ahead for a safe, enjoyable journey. Keep up to date with:
