Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency advises motorists are currently experiencing delays on State Highway 2 north of Te Puna due to road repair works and resurfacing in the area.
Bay of Plenty System Manager Rob Campbell encourages motorists to plan ahead and allow an extra 10 minutes for their travel.
“If possible, motorists should consider delaying their travel or taking an alternative route.
“These summer works are part of the biggest maintenance programme the Transport Agency has undertaken for the last decade. We appreciate delays can be frustrating for motorists but these important works help improve the road, increase safety and make everyone’s journeys more enjoyable.
“The Transport Agency thanks motorists for their patience.”
