Activity at Nevis Bluff, SH6, near Queenstown from 23 November

|

People who use the road between Queenstown and Cromwell, State Highway 6, should expect short delays at the Nevis Bluff from 23 November.

Repair work using abseilers and helicopters will be ongoing for around two weeks, said John Jarvis, Senior Network Manager, NZ Transport Agency. The work is part of on-going safety and monitoring of the Bluff, involving abseil inspection, rock scaling and helicopter sluicing to remove loose debris, following winter.

Because road user safety is important, delays of up to ten minutes should be planned for between 8 am and 5 pm weekdays through to Friday, 4 December, Mr Jarvis said. This work is subject to weather conditions.

The Transport Agency thanks everyone for their patience while this important safety work is carried out leading into the summer holiday season(external link).

Regular work updates will be available by calling 0800 44 44 49 (0800 4 HIGHWAYS) or at the NZ Transport Agency highway information website at www.highwayinfo.govt.nz(external link)
