Renewing an endorsement

F, R, T or W endorsements

Forklift (F), roller (R), tracks (T) and wheels (W) endorsements expire at the same time as your driver licence, and are automatically renewed when you renew your driver licence.

This means you don’t have to make a separate application or pay a separate fee to renew them - provided they’ve not been expired for more than five years.

D, P, V, I and O endorsements

Dangerous goods (D), passenger (P), vehicle recovery (V), driving instructor (I) and testing officer (O) endorsements all have different requirements to renew them.

Renewing a P endorsement

If you're driving in the passenger services industry you need to renew your passenger (P) endorsement before it expires.

Renewing a V endorsement

If you're towing vehicles for hire or reward you'll need to make sure your vehicle recovery (V) endorsement remains current.

Renewing an I endorsement

Renew your driving instructor (I) endorsement if you want to keep teaching people to drive for hire or reward.

Renewing an O endorsement

You need a current testing officer (O) endorsement to conduct practical driving tests.

If you’re paid or rewarded for carrying substances or articles that have explosive, flammable, toxic, infectious, corrosive or environmentally hazardous properties, or containers that have held dangerous goods, you’re likely to need a D endorsement. Make sure you renew your D endorsement before it expires to keep carrying these goods.
